Hi Alling, great to hear from you! What sort of chemist work in the resource industry have you had exposure to?

Copper is one of IGO's focus commodities for exploration, where geochemical knowledge plays a key role in understanding copper systems, exploration targeting, ensuring the appropriate lab analysis methods are being employed and QAQC of results, as well as robust interpretation of assay results for real-time decision making. Further to exploration, there is always a drive to advance means of copper extraction and processing, and better understand elemental deportment and ore characteristics - objectives that align more with metallurgy and refinement roles, but will provide insight in to mineralised systems that will enable us to explore more effectively, efficiently and creatively.

Do the above components sound like avenues that would utilise your skillsets?

Hi Jess, Thank you for your thoughtful response. During my time as a Chemist at Intertek Indonesia, I specialized in gold analysis using aqua regia digestion, DIBK extraction, and cyanide leaching. I routinely processed over 1000 mineral samples per day while maintaining strict accuracy and turnaround targets. For base metals like copper and silver, we followed the GA 01 scheme (aqua regia-based). • For samples below 5000 ppm, we applied dilution factors and read them using AAS. • For higher-grade samples, we used titration. In addition to my technical skills, I’m a fast learner and have experience in opening and adapting new methods depending on sample requirements and operational needs. This flexibility has helped ensure accuracy and timely results under pressure. You can also view my working portfolio (AAS, titration, and lab documentation) here: 🔗 https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1XKSDcf3C5YNW_bahKea4kxQWNAzdXVB2 Warm regards, Alling Andini
